Be Your Fittest Self
I was surprised at what Cosmopolitan Magazine explained were common mistakes in a gym workout. The post explained that in doing crunches, make sure that you’re not straining your neck. If you push your tongue to the roof of your mouth and focus on your abdominals, you’ll be using the correct muscles. Their next suggestion was to make sure you warm up for a run or go on the eliptical correctly. Instead of stretching your hands to your toes or reaching your hands behind your back, set the machine at a low level for five minutes before kicking it into high gear. Another suggestion was making sure that you don’t lift the same weight every time you do free weights. Making sure to up your poundage by about five pounds every two weeks or so, if you’re doing weights more than once or twice a week. What about push-ups? Doing real push-ups is only effective if your form is correct, which is incredibly difficult, so doing a modified push-up, with your knees on the ground can be much more effective, when done correctly. Finally, eating before and after a workout is more than OK. But eating a power bar before your workout isn’t a great idea. Try a banana the next time you’re hungry before getting on the treadmill. And afterwards, make sure you don’t splurge on a lot of calories, go for something that’s around 150 calories or less.
These are just a few more tips to help make your workout more effective. With a treatment at New Contours, tightening an area that is particularly hard to work out in the gym or somewhere else, your workout can go even further. The body-sculpting capabilities of the exilis technology give you the opportunity to make your hard work go further. As a reminder, our Summer Sizzle Sale is going on until August 31st!
